    ART WITH LEGO® BRICKS

This award-winning and record-breaking exhibition uses beautiful works of art made from simple toys to explore animal endangerment, the balance of ecosystems, and mankind’s relationship with nature. Just as LEGO® pieces interconnect, everything in nature is also connected in a delicate balance. This artful exhibition illustrates that balance in a beautiful, inspirational setting.

About

ART WITH LEGO® BRICKS allows your guests to appreciate both nature and the sculptures as something beautiful, and to inspire your guests to go home and create something wonderful themselves.

Just as LEGO pieces interconnect, everything in nature is interconnected in a delicate balance. Insects and plants have important relationships; different species of animals have special relationships with each other; animals have connections with their families just like we do.

And of course, people have a connection with nature, whether you’re trimming a bonsai tree or planting a garden, or anything else: you are a part of nature.

INTERPRETIVE OBJECTIVES

Each ART WITH LEGO® BRICKS display illustrates a connection in nature and connects youth and adults to nature and art:

  • The importance of nature
  • Conservation
  • Balance of ecosystems
  • Predator/prey relationships
  • Adult/offspring relationships
  • Symbiotic and mutualistic relationships
  • Species interaction
  • Relationships with habitat, host plants, nesting, etc
  • Relationships between humankind and nature

ART WITH LEGO® BRICKS is both artistic and educational, aiming to simultaneously draw attention to nature and the world around us in a way that is very true to artist Sean Kenney and to the essence of the subject matter itself.

Educational Materials

We provide instructors with essential questions to ask students at each area and a lesson that explores and expands on the ideas presented.

Our research and interpretive text is also the basis for our Educator Guides. Developed during the second half of our 360° process, these guides contain classroom modules for students to use before arrival and after their experience, with accompanying activities for the exhibition visit itself.
